"NAHIL" OR WISHING TREE

"NAHIL" OR WISHING TREE

A "Wishing Tree" or "Nahıl", is an old Turkish tradition associated with the ritual of making wishes. These "trees" were believed to bring joy and prosperity and thus, were indispensable at Ottoman festivals, especially palace weddings.

Armada’s first "Wishing Trees"were designed in 2002 with a contemporary twist for the celebration of Earth Day in cooperation with the ÇEKÜL Foundation. Later on, they played an indispensable role as "Wishing Trees" at the spring Hıdrellez festivals. Today, the "Wishing Trees" are used as the Armada’s Christmas tree in place of an evergreen. They are also available for wish-makers at their own weddings and engagement parties.
