FORMATION OF THE AHIRKAPI ORCHESTRA

Live music on the final evening of the Hıdrellez spring festival had always been performed by the Romani people of Ahırkapı. Prior to the Hıdrellez festival in 2005, the Armada gathered all the musicians together and formed the "Ahırkapı Romani Orchestra" which performed a concert at the final event that year. Their music quickly gained popularity and that same summer the Orchestra produced their first album with Sony music.
