Once the hotel began operations in 1997, a neglected concrete building on nearby Keresteci Hakkı Street (“Hakkı the Lumberjack” in Turkish) was transformed into a working construction office by restoring the exterior with a wooden facade. At the same time, the gardens were landscaped to create a Garden Restaurant to serve Istanbulites that is reminiscent of the old Bomonti gardens.
